The Deeper Side of Brahms
Perhaps as well as any composer and frankly better than most, Johannes Brahms was able to convey the feeling of loss… the death of a close friend, an irretrievable loss of love.
Whatever our loss might be, we sense through his music that Brahms understands – that he has experienced this, too. It can be cathartic to share our loss with another person, even with a person long since departed, like Brahms.
