Host George Marriner Maull will take you on a guided tour of one his favorite overtures!  In atypical fashion, Bedřich Smetana composed this overture before writing barely any of the music for the rest of the opera. And it has been enjoyed as a stand-alone staple of the standard orchestral repertoire for 151 years!
